Spring 2024 Selectboard election results

(642 votes for Dan Steinbauer vs 204 for David Demarest).

It is unclear how many of the votes for Steinbauer were cast by voters mislead by the personally named defendants going out of their way to keep focusing all questions upon Demarest's litigation with the Town's governance as opposed to important issues David Demarest wanted to address, including but not limited to Underhill should not operate at a financial deficit and one of the most important aspects of the affordable housing issue in Underhill is making our town be affordable for the residents that are already here (especially children that have to move when they grow up because they cannot afford a home of their own in Underhill and our town's seniors that are trying to make ends meet on a fixed income).

It should also be noted Dan Steinbauer not only played a central role in the October 8, 2009 letter which preceded ALL the litigation to which Demarest has been a party or co-party against the Town's governance and Steinbauer also made sure the town "decided not to warn the advisory articles" to prevent the 2020 Petition on Public Accountability from being able to be presented to Underhill's voters.

David Demarest's 2024 Run For An Otherwise Unopposed Selectboard Position:

David Demarest has learned a tremendous amount about Underhill's in-group and out-group style of governance since building his off-grid home around 23 years ago and he has the grit to stand up for your rights.

A vote for David Demarest is a vote to restore civil rights of Free Speech, Equal Treatment Under the Law, and basic property rights so residents do not fear retaliation or being unreasonably censored and misrepresented by their own town government. David Demarest is also dedicated to correcting the issues that caused our town to operate at a financial deficit in 2023 and will do his best to lower our taxes.
